WHAT IS COSMIC SMASHBOOKING?
I have countless "pretty" journals lined up on my closet shelf, the blank pages evident of my neglect. Not to mention the abandoned paintings, the unfinished knitting, and several other incomplete creative pursuits. When I discovered Cosmic Smashbooking, I anticipated that this would be yet another creative endeavor that would end up tucked away inside a box. It wasn't. Cosmic Smashbooking has become a beautiful, messy, colorful, and magical practice where the crumpled pages of a notebook repeatedly reveal and heal me in ways that I never could have imagined. My affinity for this process has led me to become a Certified Cosmic Smashbooking Guide.
Based on the fundamental principles of Intentional Creativity® and art journaling, Catt Z developed Cosmic Smashbooking as a tool that allows creativity and spirituality to intersect and become a pathway of self-discovery. Each page is an invitation to honor your intuition and deepen your connection and relationship with yourself and others through creative expression that is rooted in love, mindfulness, and intention.
The Basic Process

Free writing using a prompt or inquiry for approximately 5-10 minutes. You write whatever you are thinking without stopping, not overthinking, or worrying about spelling, punctuation, or grammar.

Opening to possibility through prayer and blessing (e.g., "Please show me...guide me...inspire me).

Adding color using whatever you have available - watercolors, paint, markers, crayons.

Introducing image-making through drawing, painting, collage, etc.

April 21, 2024 - Week 1 - Connecting with Your Inner Guide
Never underestimate the presence of a strong, imaginative, knowledgeable, and resourceful Inner-Guide within you. Your Inner-Guide is an integral part of who you are – it's not separate from you. This week we tune in to our inner voice and the guidance within, creating our sanctuary of self-trust. All that you need to navigate life’s journey is not found from outside validation and the opinions of others it is found within.
May 5, 2024 - Week 2- Kindling the Inner Fire
Need a sprinkle of courage to chase after those big dreams? This week, we're heading South to leave behind old stories and heal old wounds, discovering hidden gems along the way. In the land of the South, we light a blazing fire to burn away obstacles and welcome fresh starts. By tossing old beliefs and patterns into the flames, we pave the way for a soul-deep healing journey towards confidence, spontaneity, and inner strength. Let the fiery transformation begin! PLEASE NOTE: Weather permitting we will be meeting at Lincoln Woods State Park, creating our pages in the company of Nature and having a Fire Ceremony.
May 19, -Week 3 - Web of Shadow & Light
When faced with darkness, it's essential to search within for courage and light. The shadows in the darkness may not reflect reality. This week, we enter the West and the emotional part of ourselves, like flowing water, we must learn to go with the flow of life. We will navigate through the transformation process, delving into our inner selves, evaluating our journey, and addressing what needs to be resolved to prepare for the future.
June 2, 2024 -Week 4 - Life's Sweet Nectar
The north, where whispers of ancient wisdom linger, beckons as the sanctuary of solace and renewal. Here, amidst the embrace of the earth's grounding embrace, one finds not just respite, but a sacred communion with the tangible realm. Should your spirit yearn for equilibrium, for the profound knowledge etched in your very core, the north extends its hand, offering a haven for rejuvenation and reflection, and a reminder to savor life's sweet nectar.
June 16, 2024 -Week 5 - Breath of Wisdom
This week, we journey towards the East, where the sun rises. The element of the East is air, symbolized by a feather on our altar. Air and breath are essential for life. This direction signifies inspiration – a term rooted in taking in air. The East is linked to the intellect, knowledge, learning, and curiosity. Envision birds gracefully gliding in the sky or feel the gentle breeze in your hair. By facing East, we seek renewal, a fresh perspective, and new ideas. When feeling stuck in a routine or lacking motivation, turn your gaze towards the East for a revitalizing change. PLEASE NOTE: Weather permitting we will be meeting at Lincoln Woods State Park, creating our pages in the company of Nature and having a special group breathwork session outdoors.
June 30, 2024 - Week 6 - Soulscape - Eyes of the Heart
The eyes of our heart mirror the core of our soul. When we open our hearts, we tap into insights about our soul's journey. Energy flows through the heart's pathways, guiding and nurturing our growth and development. This window to the soul provides clarity and offers answers to life's purpose. Balancing our hearts and minds creates a harmonious energy flow, leading to a shift in our conscious awareness. This week we embrace a joyful and lighthearted perspective, entering our “soulscape” to help us unveil our most authentic self and calling.

This option covers the full 6-week session and offers a discount for paying in full at time of registration.
Option 2 - Pay Each Session - $75
This option allows you to pay weekly for sessions and offers flexibility if you would like to participate but cannot attend all six sessions.

I understand that life happens and sometimes the unexpected can interrupt our commitments. If you are not going to be able to attend a group or workshop, please text or call Kailey at (401) 329-6527. Also, if you are running late, please text Kailey. Your communication will let us know you are safe and on your way.
If you register for a group or workshop and later become unable to attend, I will gladly offer a credit to use toward any future group or workshop OR a full refund can be requested if notice is given at least 2 weeks before the start of the group or workshop minus a $50.00 administrative fee. No refunds or credits will be given if less than a 14-day notice is provided. Please contact info@silvercrestsanctuary.com with notification of your cancellation request.
Workshops and groups at Silvercrest Healing Sanctuary require a great deal of pre-planning, including ordering supplies – all based on the number of individuals who register. As a small business, when individuals ask to cancel at the last minute, I am unable to absorb these costs and keep costs affordable.
In fairness to all attendees, I am unable to make exceptions to this policy, including for reasons of illness, travel, or work hours. If you realize that you are unable to attend the group or workshop you registered for at the last minute, I suggest giving your spot to a friend.
In the event a group or workshop is cancelled due to inclement weather, emergency, or other act of God participants will be notified via text or email and every effort will be made to reschedule a make-up session.

Ground of Being

As the last leaves fall and the deepening blue of the sky reflects the growing chill in the air, we begin to notice the longing to retreat within. During this 6-week group we will explore the ground of our being as we prepare to enter into the dark stillness of winter and the deep inner work that often unfolds during this time.
October 22, 2023 - Week 1 - Gathering
We begin our journey with gratitude and honor, as we weave the lineage of connection and claim our sovereignty in a Red Thread Ceremony. We also will be creating our Cosmic Smashbook, gathering our seeds of intention, and savoring the sweetness and goodness of being exactly where we need to be on our path of becoming.
October 29, 2023 - Week 2- Soul "Mulching"
Not unlike a garden, the ground of our being requires tending as it prepares for different seasons and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth. This week we dive into "soul mulching." Have weeds taken over, blocking your connection to what you need? How are you preserving, embodying, and holding what is vital to your ground of being?
November 5, 2023 -Week 3 - Releasing
In order to create something new, we have to clear space. This week we enter into the the terrain of letting go and the tender emptying of all that is no longer serving us. What old stories keep replaying in your life? What keeps you lingering in the shadows? What would you discover about yourself if you polished your heart and let your light be seen?
November 12, 2023 -Week 4 - Returning to the Roots
When we meet our brokenness with devotion and compassion the pathway of returning becomes more gentle. Sometimes we fear that we will only find more pain in our remembrance. However, we are an alchemical vessel with deep ancient roots. What nourishing wisdom is being held for you in your roots?
November 19, 2023 -Week 5 - Leaning into the Quiet Places
When was the last time you let yourself lean into quietness and be held? This week we explore the soft places of support within us. What is waiting to be awakened when the noise quiets in your mind and the whispers of your heart can be heard?
December 3, 2023 - Week 6 - Rest
“So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing” — T.S. Eliot. This week we enter our Temple of Rest. What is on the menu at the feast table of deep presence? What is your dance of stillness?

January 14, 2024 - Week 1 - Once Upon A Time...

From blobs to bubbles we will explore oodles of doodles, allowing our thoughts and emotions to take on new forms in playful and magical ways on our pages. Let's see where our wandering, daydreaming minds take us. Get ready for a magical journey of endless possibilities!

Get ready to ride a wild ride full of twists and turns, bumps and curves, and waves and loops! Your masterpiece might seem a bit chaotic at first, but we're giving you the green light to let your creativity fly and surprise yourself with a masterpiece you never imagined possible. Sometimes the messiest creations turn out to be the most stunning! Let the fun begin!
