EXPRESSIVE WRITING & TEA CIRCLE
DISCOVER THE MEDICINE OF YOUR OWN VOICE
Come and discover the beautiful language of your soul through expressive writing. Your words, your stories, and your courageously earned wisdom matter. In this sacred circle, all rules of grammar, critiques, and judgment are cast aside. We welcome, invite, and deeply witness what has been silenced, what has been unspoken, and what longs to be said through you. Together we will create a pathway to step fully, unbounded, into who we really are.
Come...There's a seat in this circle waiting for you.
THREE AUTUMN GATHERINGS
Join us for three Sunday afternoons of expressive writing, reflection, connection, and tea among the trees at Lincoln Woods State Park.
September 27 • October 11 • October 25
1:00–3:00 PM
$150 for all three sessions
This is intentionally offered as a three-session circle, creating space for the experience to unfold over time. Each gathering builds on the last while giving you space between sessions to live with what emerges.
LIMITED TO 8 PARTICIPANTS
STEEP is intentionally limited to 8 participants to create an intimate, intentional, and cozy space for writing, sharing, and connection.
STEEP - A RETURN TO THE CIRCLE
Three years ago, I offered an expressive writing circle called Boundless. It was a beautiful experience, and over the years, several people have asked me to bring it back.
So here we are.
Boundless has been reimagined as STEEP.
STEEP carries the same invitation to slow down, listen inward, and give language to what lives beneath the surface—while creating a new space to gather, write, witness, and connect.
This time, we’ll step outdoors, into the woods, where the landscape itself becomes part of the experience.
A new name. A new setting.
The same deep invitation:
To listen for the language of your soul.
To trust what longs to be written.
To step more fully into who you are.
YOUR STEEP BUNDLE INCLUDES
Your $150 registration includes:
-
Three two-hour expressive writing circles
-
Guided writing prompts and creative or experiential warm-ups
-
Time for quiet reflection and freewriting
-
A dedicated STEEP notebook and pen
-
Tea at each gathering
-
Cozy wool blankets available for use
-
A reserved outdoor setting at Lincoln Woods State Park
-
A small, supportive circle grounded in listening, witnessing, and connection

WHAT HAPPENS IN THE CIRCLE
We begin with presence and intention, dropping our awareness into our bodies and the spaciousness of being through breath, mindfulness, and a simple opening ritual.
We then ease into writing with a creative or experiential warm-up before beginning to dive deeper through prompts.
A specific prompt may be offered, or you may be invited to use a phrase, word, poem, or quote that captures your attention.
We will freewrite for a set period of time, typically ranging from 3–15 minutes with each prompt.
This is where you get to let go and simply be open to what wants to emerge.
There is no way to do this wrong.
Within the supportive container of our circle, you can let go of perfectionism and the critical voice in your head. Grammar, spelling, and punctuation don't matter here.
The only invitation is to keep your hand moving and allow your voice to emerge on the page.
The Practice of Witnessing
After our freewrites, group members will be invited to read aloud what they have written.
The circle commits to witnessing and deeply listening, without critique, comments, or feedback. We receive each person's words with reverence and gratitude.
You always have the choice of whether or not to share.
There is no expectation to perform, impress, explain, or make sense of what you've written.
We simply listen.
A CIRCLE IN NATURE
We'll gather at the same reserved site at Lincoln Woods State Park for all three sessions, creating a familiar and cozy outdoor setting where our circle can unfold, deepen, and connect over time.
There are two picnic tables at the site, and we'll also create a circle on blankets for those who prefer a more grounded and cozy place to sit. Dark gray wool blankets will be available for your use.
Please dress appropriately for the temperature and conditions. Layers are encouraged, and comfortable outdoor clothing is recommended.
Tea will be provided.
Specific directions to our gathering site will be emailed after registration.
IF WEATHER CHANGES OUR PLANS
STEEP is intentionally designed as an outdoor experience, but sometimes the weather has other ideas.
If weather or other conditions make gathering outdoors uncomfortable or prohibitive, we'll move the session indoors to my office, approximately 10 minutes from Lincoln Woods.
Our indoor gathering space offers two options: a cozy, intimate office space or the larger studio space, where we can gather around a huge table.
If a session needs to be moved indoors, all participants will be notified by text message with the updated location and any additional information.
Wherever we gather, the intention remains the same: to create a warm, welcoming space where you can slow down, write, listen, and be witnessed.
WHAT TO BRING
Come dressed for the weather and ready to spend time outdoors.
You may want to bring:
-
A water bottle
-
Layers or extra clothing for warmth
-
Comfortable clothing for sitting outdoors
-
Anything else that helps you feel comfortable and grounded in nature
Your STEEP notebook and pen will be provided.
And bring your willingness to listen inward and follow the words wherever they lead.
REGISTRATION
Three-Session Circle — $150
Your registration reserves your place for all three STEEP gatherings:
September 27 • October 11 • October 25
1:00–3:00 PM
Space is intentionally limited to 8 participants to preserve the intimacy, intentionality, and cozy nature of our circle.
INDIVIDUAL SESSIONS
The three-session bundle is the primary way to join STEEP because the circle is designed to unfold over three gatherings.
Individual-session participation may be available only if space remains.
If you are interested in attending a single session, please email at info@silvercrestsanctuary.com or text me (401) 329-6527 before registering to determine availability and complete your registration.
Please do not register for an individual session without first confirming availability.
CLOSING THE CIRCLE
We end each gathering by closing our circle with a blessing.
And don't be surprised if the creative muse offers a unique twist to our benediction.
Perhaps you will leave with something you didn't know you carried.
Perhaps a story will surprise you.
Perhaps a quiet voice you've been waiting to hear will finally have room to speak.
Perhaps you'll simply leave feeling a little more connected—to yourself, to your words, and to the people sitting beside you.
Come steep in words, warmth, nature, and connection.

STEEP ATTENDANCE, CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICIES
Life happens — and sometimes unexpected things get in the way. If you’re unable to attend a group, session, or workshop you’ve registered for, please text or call Kailey at (401) 329-6527. If you’re running late, a quick message is appreciated so we know you’re safe and on your way.
Because offerings at Silvercrest Healing Sanctuary are intimate, intentional spaces with limited capacity, each registration matters. Supplies, space, and session flow are planned based on your presence.
Cancellation Policy
At Silvercrest Healing Sanctuary, great care goes into preparing our sessions, groups, and creative offerings — from gathering supplies and reserving materials to holding sacred space for each participant who registers. In order to support both the sustainability of this work and fairness to all involved, the following cancellation policy is in place:
Workshops (e.g., The Making Table, STEEP) and Open Studio Sessions
All workshop and open studio registrations are final and non-refundable.
If you're unable to attend, you may gift your spot to a friend — simply email info@silvercrestsanctuary.com in advance with their full name and email address so we can welcome them.
Groups (e.g., Therapy Groups, Cosmic Smashbooking Groups)
-
14 Days or More in Advance: If you cancel at least 14 days before the group’s start date, you may request a full refund minus a $50 administrative fee or receive a full credit toward a future group offering.
-
Less Than 14 Days: No refunds or credits will be issued for cancellations made less than 14 days before the start of the group.
We deeply appreciate your understanding, as significant planning, preparation, and limited spots make last-minute cancellations difficult to accommodate.
Private Breathwork Sessions
These sessions require time, energetic preparation, and a space specifically held for you.
Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance and/or no shows will be subject to a $75 late cancellation fee. This applies whether you booked a single session or are using a multi-session package.
If you are running late or need to reschedule, please text Kailey at (401) 329-6527 as soon as possible.
In Case of Weather or Emergency
If an event must be rescheduled due to inclement weather, illness, emergency, or unforeseen circumstances, you will be notified via text or email and offered a make-up date or alternative option.
Why This Policy Matters
As a small business, last-minute cancellations are difficult to absorb and affect the accessibility and sustainability of these offerings. Your understanding helps keep this work available and affordable for the community.
Thank you for honoring the space, your fellow participants, and the care behind each gathering.
