Reclaiming Wholeness
Mid-Life Eating Disorder Recovery Group
SEPTEMBER 8 - November 10, 2025
A 10-WEEK RELATIONAL, BODY INCLUSIVE GROUP FOR WOMEN In MiDLife & Beyond
Healing Doesn't Have An Age Limit
Midlife brings both wisdom and upheaval. It’s a time when old patterns may resurface, when the body changes, and when the need for deeper self-trust and community becomes undeniable. This group is an invitation to pause and reclaim.

Though often underrecognized, eating disorders in midlife are more common than people realize. Research continues to show a significant increase in disordered eating and body image concerns among women in midlife, yet the stigma — and the silence — remain. Many women feel shame for struggling with what is still widely perceived as an “adolescent issue,” leaving them isolated and without adequate support. There is a notable gap in services specifically tailored for this age group — a gap this group seeks to compassionately address.

Together, we’ll explore eating disorder recovery through the lens of intuitive eating, body respect, aging, and relational healing — all within a community of women who understand the complexities of this life stage. Through shared meals, somatic practices, expressive art-making, and embodied reflection, we will reconnect with the wisdom of our bodies and deepen our capacity for presence, self-compassion, and trust.
Skill-building around emotional regulation, boundary-setting, nervous system care, and intuitive nourishment will be gently integrated, offering practical tools that support sustainable recovery and wholeness. With honest conversation, creative process, and sacred witnessing, we will support each other in becoming more fully ourselves — again and again.

With compassionate guidance from an experienced therapist and dietitian, we honor both the unique challenges and deep inner knowing that emerge in this season of life. Meal support will be provided weekly using an intuitive eating, non-diet, trauma-informed framework we lovingly call “Nourished Together."
This group is for women in midlife and beyond who are in a stable phase of recovery and medically appropriate for outpatient support. A brief pre-screening will be required to ensure goodness-of-fit and safety for all participants.
“And I said to my body, softly,
‘I want to be your friend.’
It took a long breath and replied,
‘I’ve been waiting my whole life for this.’”

WEEKLY THEMES & FOCUS
September 8, 2025
Week 1 – Mapping the Journey
We begin by gently arriving—naming what brings us here and what we hope to reclaim. Together, we’ll explore the unique terrain of midlife eating disorders: life transitions, shifting identities, aging, and the longing to feel more at home in ourselves. Through creative mapping, you’ll trace your path so far—honoring both the beauty and the challenges. This week is about grounding, claiming your seat, and opening to possibility.
Focus: grounding, community agreements, personal recovery mappingSeptember 15, 2025
Week 2 – Listening Inward: Reconnecting with the Body
This week is about softening into your relationship with your body. We’ll explore intuitive eating, body cues, and self-trust — shifting from shame and control to curiosity. Through gentle reflection and expressive exercises, you’ll begin to listen to your body as a source of wisdom—not judgment—and explore signals of hunger, fullness, and satisfaction.
Focus: intuitive eating, interoceptive awareness, body trustSeptember 22, 2025
Week 3 – Feeling Fully: Emotions as Messengers
Many of us have learned to suppress or override our feelings—especially those tied to food, body image, or unmet needs. This week we’ll explore emotion regulation techniques that help you ride the waves instead of getting pulled under. We'll practice welcoming emotions as messages — learning how to feel without becoming overwhelmed. Through creativity and grounding practices, we’ll build capacity for emotional presence and allowing emotions to move through you with greater awareness and less fear.
Focus: emotion regulation, self-soothing, building distress toleranceSeptember 29, 2025
Week 4 – Untangling the Past: Grief, Identity, and Letting Go
Midlife often brings grief — for the body’s changes, lost time, and the roles the eating disorder may have played. This session makes space for mourning what’s been and honoring what’s emerging. You’ll gently explore identity shifts, and what healing looks like when we stop chasing perfection.
Focus: body grief, identity shifts, healing narrativesOctober 6, 2025
Week 5 – Rewriting the Story & Softening the Inner Critic
The stories we’ve internalized about our worth, our bodies, and our place in the world often carry shame or harshness. This week invites you to explore those inner voices and begin to shift them. Through expressive writing and gentle inner parts work, you’ll cultivate a more supportive and compassionate inner dialogue.
Focus: narrative healing, shame resilience, inner parts work, self-kindnessOctober 13, 2025
Week 6 – Rekindling Joy & Purpose
Recovery isn’t only about letting go — it’s about rediscovering what lights you up. This week we focus on joy, creativity, and meaningful connection to values. You’ll explore what feels nourishing, fulfilling, and worth saying yes to.
Focus: values alignment, vitality, joy as nourishmentOctober 20, 2025
Week 7 – Boundaries & Belonging
Healing includes learning where you end and others begin. This session offers gentle support in identifying your needs and setting boundaries that protect your peace without cutting off connection. We’ll explore how to stay rooted in authenticity while nurturing healthy relationships.
Focus: boundaries, relational safety, authenticityOctober 27, 2025
Week 8 – Reclaiming Sensuality & Embodied Pleasure
Midlife can be a return to embodiment — not for approval, but for presence and pleasure. This week invites you to reconnect with your sensual self through movement, taste, texture, and touch. It’s about honoring your body as a source of life, not a project to be fixed.
Focus: embodiment, sensory awareness, reclaiming joy in the bodyNovember 3, 2025
Week 9 – Navigating the Holidays with Compassion
Holidays can bring warmth — and also food fears, family stress, and overwhelm. This week we prepare with care: setting boundaries, planning for nourishment, and creating rituals that honor your needs. You’ll leave with practical tools and emotional support for the season ahead.
Focus: holiday coping, practical recovery skills, honoring needsNovember 10, 2025
Week 10 – Becoming, Again and Again – The Whole Self
Recovery is not a straight line — it’s a continual unfolding. In this final session, we’ll honor the journey, celebrate growth, and reflect on who you’re becoming. Through ritual, reflection, and celebration, we’ll send you forward with grounded confidence and continued connection.
Focus: integration, ritual closure, continued support

Cancellation Policy
At Silvercrest Healing Sanctuary, great care goes into preparing our sessions, groups, and creative offerings — from gathering supplies and reserving materials to holding sacred space for each participant who registers. In order to support both the sustainability of this work and fairness to all involved, the following cancellation policy is in place:
